When I was in high school, I got hooked in this certain magazine for girls. It became quite a collection of mine because I would buy an issue every month. As in I would save my allowance everyday just so I could have my monthly dose. It's sort of like a manual or something like that for teens. It tackles issues about anything and everything teen-girl related: fashion, relationships, entertainment, beauty, shopping, ok you get the picture?
Some may think that if you read magazines like that, it'll only teach you kaartehan and all but no.
So I was thinking, why not share the good stuff that it taught me.
Here are five things girlies need to know! :)
Love yourself. No matter what flaws you may think you have, use it as your advantage. Everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way. Love yourself no matter what others think and never ever forget that you are a gem--priceless and irreplaceable!
Don't let anyone get in your way. Stumbling blocks are inevitable. Don't stop til you get to where you want to be. Have the courage to stand up for what you believe in but don't forget to listen, too. Sometimes we often think that we're always right to the point that we fail to listen to the people around us.
Cliche, but it's flat-out true: Everything happens for a reason. You may not understand why certain things have had to happen but in time, I'm sure you will.
Learn to let go. Honestly, I had the hardest time in learning how to let "it" go. It took me not just days or weeks or months to learn this simple thing. But what we don't know is that, letting go can be good sometimes. The act of letting go isn't just giving up and allowing something to slip out of your hands--it's understanding that the best is yet to come.
And of course....
Quoting A Cinderella Story, "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." Never let your fear overcome you and stop you from doing anything. Don't be afraid to dream, don't be afraid to take risks, don't be afraid to fall in love, don't be afraid to set big goals. It's okay to be impulsive--sometimes taking the plunge can lead to the most life-changing events in your life!
